Feeling slightly less filled with buyer's remorse after my eBay purchase vintage HOTOL/An-225 model arrived and turned out not to be unacceptably massive.

Nice review of my Me 262 book. Apparently if you learn anything from it, you earned it! speedreaders.info/29553-messersc…

In two pictures, the extent of Vulcan development! First prototype VX770 had 26,000lb thrust in total; final Vulcan B.2 had 20,000lb thrust per engine. All about altitude…and fuel from a short runway.

I believe that's footage from Lt W. Gerbe's Mustang on Nov 1, 1944. The Me 262 is in a flat spin, having had one engine shot out, and Gerbe is chasing it down as it plummets, still firing.

At around 420 pages, HOTOL: Britain's Spaceplane is the longest book I've ever written - and with more than 450 images is also the most heavily illustrated. Should be ready to print shortly.

My new book is back from the printers and you get a signed copy - if such things appeal to you - when you buy one direct from the publisher.

I've been looking forward to this dropping thru the letterbox. And it's immediately clear that ⁦Dan Sharp⁩ has produced an astonishing piece of work. The answer to all my Dan Dare dreams! An early contender for aviation book of the year? It'll take some beating ...
