Today’s challenge was tracing the house in my grandparents wedding photo. No record of street or number, just a name. So we walked the streets of Builth Wells…and found it!! The past came alive.

Off to the land of my fathers tomorrow. Quite literally. Trying to locate the house where my grandparents lived in Builth Wells. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❤️

Read today that Frank Ifield had died. What was surprising was being able to recall most of the lyrics of his hit “I Remember You”…from 62 years ago!

First the boat, then the car. FFS. But my life lessons have taught me to always look at the positives.

So I’m in The Swan. 🍺

Only a couple of hrs today. Tied up at the Wharf in Congleton. And sitting in The Wharf…🍺🍺🍺

Today’s gentle amble was 8 miles and TWENTY SIX locks. 8.5hrs incl a sani stop, 2 fender repairs, and lunch! Absolutely jiggered tbh but look at the view.

Recommend the Cheshire Cheese. Nice village pub and v popular. ‘Er indoors enjoying a Roku gin and I’m on the Hydes Hopster.

14.5 miles, 8 locks, & a service stop in 8 hrs. Strong wind (setting off was hairy) , sun, rain, sun, sun (coats off), cold wind, rain, hail. Now knackered at Wheelock eating cake.
