NEW Chaos Digest: The rise of Akor Adams is a damning indictment of Victor Boniface, who seems blithely content to let his potential pass unfulfilled 👇

Jannik Sinner does it again! The Italian claims the #NittoATPFinals for the second consecutive year in front of his home crowd, defeating Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(4), 7-5 to do it. 24th ATP title for the 24-year-old. Best way to wrap up a remarkable season.

▪️For 4-3-2-1 to work, you need your n.10s to come to the party. Neither did; Lookman in particular looks woefully out of form. ▪️Osimhen predictably isolated v a very physical defence, and not enough movement from elsewhere. ▪️Super Eagles have gone from too narrow to too wide.

In the last 6 years, only one 🇳🇬 Super Eagles coach has won a competitive fixture in which Victor Osimhen either was unavailable or played less than 30': Austin Eguavoen. Guardiola.

With hindsight, this was a proper pivot moment. If Osimhen had scored here, there would have been no extra time, no added fatigue for the entire team and (likely) no first-half injury for himself vs DRC. By no means his fault, especially as he atoned in ET. Just sliding doors.

Consistent failure to qualify for the World Cup and maybe AFCON too will actually be the best thing for Nigerian football in the long run. Because the way Nigeria runs its football is a metaphor for Nigeria's internal governance as a whole - it has achieved an outrageous amount

Nigeria's dependence on Osimhen supported by numbers. (H/T Solace Chukwu) In quoted video, I argue Nigeria should probably go to AFCON 2025 with a (new) team built around Osimhen, with long-term view of 2030 World Cup qualification.
