In conventional #plantsci research, plants are often grown in controlled conditions where the lights are just switched on-off at the start and end of day. This is not how day-night transitions work in nature! Do plants care? Turns out, they really do!

So nice to see data that many agronomists have known in observation but never tested with rigor - the character of light across a day, across the seasons of a year, have impacted the evolution of land plants in ways we have yet to measure. Exciting work!!!
