The way the list of requirements for PhD admission is getting longer in some places, soon students will need a PhD to apply for PhD admission

Reposting Jessie's announcement. I was a part of the 2024 cohort of #ExoExplorers and it was one of the most valuable experiences I've had a grad student. Happy to answer any questions!

One September highlight was getting to revisit my alma mater UCLA after 4 years. I got to walk down the memory lane of college years and relive some moments from 8 years when I started there as a freshman, while getting my sister, a new Bruin, excited about college #GoBruins

Pretty thankful to soak in this view at work every day... knowing that my work will have made a difference to two of the telescopes on this beautiful and sacred mountain. Happy Thanksgiving! #Grateful #Thanksgiving

Global geopolitics lately has been looking very interesting. One of my new year plans ('resolutions' make it sound too real) is to be better updated on world news and understand the implications of new policies, sanctions, and elections on astronomy research and development.

I'm happy to share this paper by Steward Observatory, University of Arizona PhD student Gabe Weible on an intriguing substellar companion in the Pleiades! Few such objects are known, and understanding the orbit of HII 1348B helps to piece together its method of formation. arxiv.org/abs/2501.16429
