What’s something in our industry that is psychotic but we accept it as normal? I’ll go first- leaving the factory shipping plastic on farm machinery seats 🤨

*if* a scenario unfolded where the only way you could continue to commercially farm in the US & Canada was to become 💯 organic, what would you do? Would you do it? Or throw in the towel?

As a farmer who spends most of the season in isolation, the strongest urge I fight is not to take a leak behind the truck when traveling to the city.

We (wheat industry) never bothered to ask the consumer if they wanted this. It was expressed in a meeting yesterday that if we don’t adopt, we’ll be left behind when other countries do. FOMO in this regard is a race to the bottom. This will lead to $2 wheat.

Do any of my non-Idaho followers know where I’m at today? Every senior class for the past 100 yrs has their year painted on the cliffs above town🤘

Fantastic ride on the last day of winter. Hopefully not the last of the year. Pretty soon they won’t be needing dads help to get unstuck, I’ll be needing theirs🫣

I don’t know if it’s a lack of faith in my abilities or just a lack of faith, but every year when the winter wheat survives 6 months under snow cover I’m always amazed. First of the ridges are starting to bare off. So far everything seems to be alive 🤞🤞

Update: she dropped a valve seat into #6. Options from dealer quote are: -New crate motor $122,000 -New long block $67,000 -Resleeve and rebuild $32,000 We bought a brand new Cummins crate engine for our semi 9 years ago that was $27,000 complete and installed. Insane!

This year is starting to remind me of 2021. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen winter crops go backwards so fast. Even wheat on fallow is starting to burn. 🔥 Everything was looking so good 10 days ago. Made a big turn last week. April and May rain totals at only 1.5”
