Everybody is going through a lot, but so am I. I give grace and understanding, but I also need things too, and I have to stop forgetting myself trying to be compassionate to everyone else.

In your 30s everything is a lot of fun, but everything is also very serious at the same time.

I love coincidences now, they feel like little signs of alignment. When I meet a stranger and we have things in common, or I see similarities in the real world with my own goals, it just feels like God is winking at me. Like the world knows what I want and is reflecting it back.

I don’t want to keep budgeting all my life, there just needs to be an abundance of money. Period.

To anyone who needs to hear this, running a company is HARD. It’s not something you need to do unless you’re crazy passionate about something enough to stick beside it when it thrives or fails. It’s not the only way to show up for what you believe in. Please understand that.

I just booked a birthday trip for myself that I couldn’t even afford last year. Sometimes the solution is 365 days away from the problem, we just have to be patient!

I am entirely too accessible to people. I love responding and being available to help or give, but it’s just not possible anymore to always be open for everyone, every message, all the time. It’s not healthy.

You can either live the life you want or spend time explaining yourself to people. You can’t do both.

I just hope one day we finally take ‘Black Excellence’ off its pedestal so we can finally make room for Black integrity instead. Success is nothing if we have zero morals, principles, or understanding of mutual care.

Standing up for yourself and reinforcing your boundaries always feels so unbearable, but then it results in exactly what you need. It’s worth the discomfort every single time.

Hear it from me as your big sis, it’s better to feel uncomfortable about holding your ground now than dealing with the day-to-day of knowing you never spoke up for yourself and now people are running you crazy. Set your standards early in absolutely everything and STICK TO THEM.

One day when I’m ready to love again, my next person has to be regulating to my nervous system. I don’t even care to feel butterflies, I just want to see them and instantly know peace and safety. That will be enough of a thrill for me.

I’m actually grateful to have seen my dating standards change with age. I’m happy I get to want different things now and look for them or wait for them without guilt. Every woman deserves that kind of growth.

Everyone is allowed “grow up” from being racist and hating Black women and we just have to be okay with it. We can’t have any feelings about it, we just have to accept that it’s a right of passage to hate us, and allow people to “grow” into seeing us as human. Very insane to me.

Having an aura that attracts everyone can be so confusing. You don’t always know if someone truly likes you, or just likes the way you make them feel, or the way they feel about themselves when they’re with you, or if they only like your accomplishments, or some mix of it all.

The seeds that you planted in July, will become real in August.
