Lachlan Carrigan has never played in an American football game. That's likely to change when Memphis' season starts on Aug. 30. Great story here from alana on Memphis' new punter from down under:

EXCLUSIVE: In his first interview since the big swing at the Big 12, Memphis AD Ed Scott makes several things crystal clear to me. One: “For me, in that moment, it sucked.” Two: “For me, (that was) Round 1.” Three: “I’m not going to settle.” commercialappeal.com/story/sports/c…

Ryan Silverfield to Jessica Benson on Xavier Hill transferring in the spring. Hill, a starting offensive lineman, left for Colorado. "He told me it was all about financials. It had nothing to do with his love for this place."

Ryan Silverfield is asked by Jessica Benson to name some Memphis players who people aren't talking about enough. He mentioned Omarion "Duke" Cooper and Chauncey Logan, who are expected to start at CB. "We've got two corners that are really, really legit."

This new deal replaces the 5-year, $25 million NIL deal Memphis and FedEx announced in spring 2024. In the revenue sharing era, would expect to see more deals like this across college athletics. Lots of new details here ⬇️

Memphis AD Ed Scott asked by Gary Parrish about the Big 12 rejecting Memphis. Scott says he wants to focus on sustaining success across the athletic department. "If they're not going to let us in now, let's keep beating them."

The American Conference will have injury reports for football in 2025. Format will be a little different than the ones we've seen from other conferences. No midweek report. Teams will only have to submit info once (2 hours before kick). More details: commercialappeal.com/story/sports/c…

Included here: "No plans" to have injury reports for basketball as of now. That could obviously change by the time the season starts, but for now it'll just be football.

In terms of the SEC scheduling announcement today… …this is Arkansas’ current 2026 non-conference schedule. The Razorbacks are going to have to lose one of these games to fit the 9-game conference schedule. And it can’t be Utah (SEC P4 requirement).

Memphis is scheduled to play at Arkansas in 2026 and 2028. The Tigers also have a home-and-home set with Mississippi State in 2028/2029. Going forward? Scheduling SEC games was already tough for Memphis, and it’s going to be tougher after today’s announcement.
