UK company Unilever signed a pledge to protect Black employees from hair discrimination for afros and locs. The Halo Code pledge was created by Black activist group The Halo Collective, who say 20% of Black women feel pressure to straighten their hair at work despite legal protections.

We are so excited to announce that Unilever UK & IRE , the parent brand of so many well known brands has adopted our code. This makes them the very first Halo Workplace in the UK. We hope other workplaces also follow suit and adopt our code, allowing us to have more Halo Workplaces.
