There’s a rumour that on top of the Formula 1 2 week shutdown, there’ll be another 1 week enforced around Christmas in 2023. Fixing 3 weeks of employee holiday may suit those living local and to whom cost is no concern, but what about the rest of us? #F1

No rest at the factories. It is one of the busiest times trying to get designs out, parts made, tested (fixed if needed), etc. Some will work over the x-mas holidays Some will be working wknds. Some are on night shifts. While the tv coverage ends,the work continues 💪🏽 #F1

I am so proud of the work that Areto Labs and I have done to investigate this further and finally work towards some action. Although 2022 is over, we still have so much to show on the work that we’ve done.

So I just found out, this DID happen… I will not stop until this is overturned. If not, I won’t be staying in the sport for very long.

While an Formula 1 winter shutdown is well intentioned (cost saving/employee break), it’s a non-inclusive bandaid 🩹. The FIA needs to take more thoughtful action to ensure employee wellbeing, while not discriminating or alienating talent.
