For decades, Krypto was perceived as too wild a move for a live-action Superman story to make until James Gunn just went for it and now it's likely there will never be another version* of Superman that doesn't include Krypto in some capacity. *version, not saying every movie

Seeing I Know What You Did Last Summer 2025 edition tonight and I know zero spoilers but my one prediction before I see it is I think there's a decent chance Ray/Freddie Prinze Jr. is the killer in this one. (I vow to not telegraph if I was right or wrong afterwards)

Watching I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer for the first time (shockingly, it's... not good) and these kids are having a barn party, something I never experienced but sure is a favorite location for horror movies.

I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) is very funny for how it's super reverential to a horror movie that was always second string at best. But its echoes of Halloween and Scream's legacy sequel moves are still entertaining echoes. My review: youtube.com/watch?v=epXPG0…

People being genuinely positive/upbeat about what comes next, so that the studio doesn't need to instantly turn to having him fight Batman to extra eventize a sequel in a movie that also tries to metatextually address the complaints about how many deaths he let happen.

Yeah, people who love each other and then want to work together too are the WORST. (Anyway, Together is not some meta commentary on Brie and Franco specifically. It's just about a longtime couple, which has an interesting extra layer if you know/care that they actually are one)

On We Enjoy Podcast, Matt Fowler and I finally watch a movie we've long heard about without seeing, 1976's Logan's Run, about a future where you must die when you turn 30. But first... it's all about mall life and orgies! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/we-… patreon.com/posts/13412880…

We are definitely at a point where a US-produced movie making any kind of notable money in China is a pleasant surprise rather than the norm, after that boom Hollywood rode for years. So now they need to plan accordingly.
