It's been a busy week. One of my highlights (with Kent County Council's Education Dir.) was meeting CEOs/Principals of #Kent's FE Colleges; East Kent Colleges Group, MidKent College, & North Kent College. All make such valued contribution to the County's economic development & also to their local communities.

We support the campaign on 1 March. Our sector has suffered years of neglect. Our 1.6 million students, their families, local employers, our staff and local communities all deserve better #MindTheSkillsGap

Without additional investment in FE and skills, we will not be able to fill skills shortages in key priority areas of the economy. Colleges are ready to play their part, but they need the investment to be able to do that. #MindTheSkillsGap bit.ly/3xz93

If Department for Education have concerns about how some colleges were applying the conditions, talk to them, talk to the sector Association of Colleges (AoC) and publish the data. Let's gain an shared understanding of causes and if guidance needed changing, lets do it together
