Over the next couple of weeks, Year 5 pupils from a range of local primary schools will be visiting The Clere School for a taster day. Pupils will become 'Clere' explorers for the day, getting their passports stamped as they participate in exciting travel themed lessons.

This week we would like to welcome pupils from Ashford Hill, Burghclere, Castle Hill, Hatherden, Smannell & Enham, St Martin's, Sherborne St. John, Vernham Dean and Woolton Hill who are visiting us for a taster day.

Good luck to our Year 10 pupils who have now embarked upon two weeks of valuable work experience in a range of interesting work placements - a valuable opportunity for pupils to learn new skills and about life in the workplace.

A group of Year 10 pupils are visiting TeenTech an exciting STEM event in Basingstoke today. This is a great opportunity for them to come face-to-face with cutting edge technology and meet the business shaping our country and influencing their 21st Centruy lives.

Responsibilities have now 'officially' been handed over to the new senior pupil team for 2018-19.Congratulations to Head Boy George Loxton, Head Girl Lauren Medfcraft, Deputy Head Boy Harvey Salter and Deputy Head Girl Hattie Light.

Last GCSE examination.....done. Year 11 pupils are now looking forward to their Prom which will take place on Friday 29th June, and of course their results in August. We wish them all the best over the summer and with the next phase of their education and training.

Good luck to our Year 10 pupils as they start their second week of work experience. We are looking forward to hearing about their experiences and the new skills they have learnt when they return to school next week.

Year 8 & 9 pupils have signed up to run their own Race for Life in school on 13th July in support of Cancer Research UK. The target is to raise £500 through donations or sponsorship. We would like to thank you in anticipation of your help and support for this event.

Congratulations to the Year 9 rounders team who came 4th out of all the District schools.

Good luck to those Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils who will be representing The Clere School at the swimming gala at Test Valley this afternoon.

Yr 10 Hospitality & Catering students will visit the De Vere Wokefield Park Hotel, tomorrow. Peter Buckingham, Exec Head Chef, will share his knowledge of the hospitality & Catering industry. This will be followed by lunch at Newbury College, prepared by their catering students.

We would like to wish Year 11 'GOOD LUCK' in their forthcoming examinations - a culmination of five years of hard work, and of real team and community spirit. Pupils are focused on achieving success and proving just how much they have accomplished over the past five years.

Talented musicians from Year 7 through to Year 10 visited Burghclere Primary School this morning to join in their spring music festival. They performed in front of the whole school, delivering truly outstanding performances on a range of instruments. Well done to those involved.

A group of Year 9 and 10 Computer Science pupils are visiting the National Science of Computing today, where they will be learning more about encryption and data security, how a computer works, binary and machine code, and the Internet. It should be a great learning experience.

Well done to Darcy Drummond in Year 8, on successfully reaching the final of the TeenStar UK singing and dancing competition. She has auditioned and competed with her dance group against hundreds of of different acts throughout the country. Good luck for the final Darcy!

A group of pupils visited an ‘Exploring Engineering’ event at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory today. They enjoyed interactive talks, workshops, a tour of the particle accelerators and explored the ISIS Neutron & Moron source. An opportunity to see science in the ‘real world’.
