Nephew has been really focussed on doing his Spanish homework for the last couple of weeks. Slightly surprising therefore, or perhaps a case of being damned with faint praise, for him to be awarded today with Year 8 'Star of the Week' for English.

My sister bought 3 new white school shirts for my nephew for £10. 1st wash - before he wore them - a cleaning cloth ended up in the wash with them and dyed them all a very light shade of pink. She's now spent almost £15 on different whiteners that haven't (yet) worked.

On my long term to-do list is writing a novelty Christmas rock song. Sat on a train that's currently going nowhere I just asked ChatGPT for advice on how to get a Christmas hit. Amongst other things it said I should ask Dolly Parton to sing it.
