I think it's underappreciated how much more productive programmers are when they're having fun. It sounds ridiculous but I think in general when businesses add extra process, admin, rules etc that make the work less fun, they fail to appreciate that it will impact productivity.

I bought the Xbox One version of Cyberpunk 2077 in order to play the v1.0.0.4 version as an intellectual exploration. It is absolutely fascinating how unfinished it was at that point, like the game was playable in some sense but it is crazy the amount of polish added since then.
