We extracted data that showed over 2,000 polling units were affected by violence or irregularities.

We decoded handwritten notes and uncovered critical details on election disruptions across the country.

6/ In #Lagos, we found numerous instances where voters faced intimidation and threats at polling stations. From armed youths disrupting voting to voters being chased away, the violence and fear tactics left many unable to cast their ballots. 🗳️

7/ To assess the impact of violence and irregularities on registered voters, we used the 2022 registered voter data along with the reports of polling stations where votes were not counted in the presidential election, enabling us to quantify the potential effect of cancellations.
