Every time I listen to a Grateful Dead show, I marvel at the fact that they managed to navigate 30 years of shows without ever going on stage with a planned setlist.

If you listen to it objectively, it's true what they say: #StevieRayVaughan's '85-'86 shows sometimes border on painful. You can hear that he's almost constantly playing himself in circles. Quite the contrast to sober SRV from '89-'90...

Back on the #StevieRayVaughan train today...picking up with the '86 show in Germany that I left off on yesterday. Sure, it's a little messy, but there are flashes of SRV brilliance in there, despite being (likely) drowned in whiskey

In reality...I wish I could play guitar half as well as #StevieRayVaughan played in '86. Yeah, I said it...
