A ROAD WORK ALERT FOR HIGHWAY 44 AROUND LAKE OCONEE ON THURSDAY The work is expected between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the Putnam County side near Normandy Road. The pipe maintenance is expected to close one lane of Highway 44 for about four hours. Expect delays.

DPH received a large data dump from a commercial lab on 5/23. It included about 15,000 processed tests and about 900 were positive cases. These results were from a backlog of tests and did not represent new cases that occurred specifically in the days between 5/17 and 5/24.

BREAKING NEWS: PUTNAM COUNTY PLANE CRASH Sheriff Howard Sills says there are no survivors after a small plane crash in the area of Highway 44 and Tanyard Road. He says there are at least two bodies. The FAA says the Piper PA-31T was flying from Williston, Florida to Indiana.
