URGENT: This morning in Western NY, federal immigration agents stopped a bus of farm workers from Lynn-Ette & Sons Farms. They had a list of names, including UFW worker leaders who have been organizing to unionize their workplace. Those workers were detained.

Honored to celebrate Stacey Caruso Sharpe tonight—a powerhouse educator, activist, and NYSUT union leader. From the classroom to the Capitol, she’s shaped policy and empowered generations. Proof that teachers don’t just teach—they lead and advocate in so many ways.

Book bans don’t protect students—it limits their opportunity to learn. The Freedom of Read Act is about trusting trained educators—not political agendas—to guide learning and spark curiosity. 📚 Check out this powerful video from NYSUT on the frontlines of this fight.

The Trump-Vance admin is holding $6 billion in education funding hostage—money Congress directed to support students, teachers, and schools. NYSUT We’re in court to demand they follow the law. Those funds belong in the classrooms.
