Male Pied Flycatchers are singing their territorial songs, defending their chosen nesting box, and hoping to attract a female.
In between they are getting a taste for British food: thehallofeinar.com/2024/05/the-pi…

My favourite Pied Flycatcher has been successful in defending his chosen nest box and attracting a female.

His partner is busy building a fabulous grass nest.

An evening walk in Somerset led us to a woodland we’d never visited before. The scent of Bear's Garlic and the calling of Jackdaws. The play of low light on swirling flowers. The intermittent alarm call of the Great Spotted Woodpecker. Wellington boots and slippery tracks.

We had a wonderful time on a guided wildlife cruise out of Brixham with Mike Langman and David Saunders on Tuesday.

Beautiful weather, plenty of wildlife action, insightful commentary, and a decent cup of tea. Perfect

David @ The HALL of EINAR They are a highly adaptable, robust bird. 🐦 Unfortunately, their ability to survive in large cities makes them victims of the pitfalls of pollution, poisoning, and an unfair image. Also, let's not forget how important they were during WW1.
