Units from the 1st battalion, PGFD and DCFD responded to this garden apartment fire in downtown Silver Spring. Units pushed to the second floor where they found an apartment unit fully involved. Crews made quick work of this fire and ensured that all occupants escaped.

Battalion 1 units with assistance from PGFD made quick work of this duplex fire in Takoma Park. E716 arrived with smoke showing in duplex in the 8500blk of 11th Ave. All occupants escaped without injury

UTV712 E712 and M712 responded for an injured person on the Northwest branch Trail. The patient was approximately a half a mile off the paved road. The UTV is an all-terrain vehicle used to reach patients who are not able to be reached through conventional methods.

It’s been a very busy day in the 1st Battalion. Multiple 1st Battalion units along with Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department handled a working attic fire in Takoma Park. E702 arrived with smoke showing from the roof and quickly extinguished an electrical fire in the attic. There were no injuries.

Units from the southside of Battalion 1 along with units from Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department responded for a house fire in the 8000blk of Glenside Dr in Takoma Park. E702 arrived with smoke showing from the rear of the house. Crews found a small fire in the kitchen and Extinguished it. No injuries

Sta. 12 (Hillandale) B Shift training a new driver. Working on second due engine operations. Master stream is simulating the first due engine and the crew has a long line stretched as the "backup line".

A total of 2 adult occupants have been extricated from the overturned vehicle. They are being evaluated by EMS with NLT injuries. Pete Piringer

BC701 responded as the 2nd command officer on a house fire in the in the 4th Batt. Co. 25 (Aspen Hill) Units arrived with fire involving the attic. The lone occupant escaped with no injuries. Batt. 4 crews works quickly to extinguish this fast moving fire in less than 15min.

Professional Firefighters Local 3666 was transported from the DC medical examiner's office to a funeral home. Our members & citizens alike paid tribute to him along Interstate 270.
