Need to put these Mbappé/R9 talks to rest. The two have very little in common. R9 even at U20 level was a vastly superior player overall. Dribbling, striking, 1v1. Played across the front 3 like Mbappé as well, but could play as lone CF.

Ronaldo is in a class of his own when it comes to sheer ability as a striker. He had the pace and power of a sprinter with the touch of the elite playmakers. Never seen such a complete CF. Nearly full ambipedality with shooting and dribbling. Close control off the charts.

Mbappé, as great as he is, simply does not have the skillset. Uses his outside right boot to carry the ball which reduces his control. Pushes the ball quite far ahead of himself and he doesn't have R9's build to hold up play. Was shocked to see comparisons after ARG win.

Look at the intuitive way he uses defenders' momentum against themselves. Reminds me of a Judo match. And check the left footed goals.

@SimplyLindelof RG He’s actually already considered to be one. Maybe not recognized by as many people because he’s surrounded by some crazy talents as well, so he didn’t stand out.
