Shocked to see this name was trending. Cliff Burton, Steve Harris, and Joey DeMaio were so instrumental in building my love for the bass. They revolutionized its role and voice in the 80's metal scene, pushing their deep, heavy sounds to the forefront. Rest well, legend!

A friend was sharing some dread last night over a project they're working on. So many intricate, moving parts, and no one on the project team had a full grasp of them all, or of what could go wrong after go-live. The mixed metaphor of Schrödinger's Sword of Damocles came to mind.
