Clubs in the championship have earned their spots in the pyramid based on their performance. That is huge. MLS franchises don’t earn their spots based on performance. That’s the difference. That’s what American soccer is missing. That’s what is holding us back.

Yesterday, I had to help stop a mob of parents from going after three referees. After several minutes of swarming them and yelling threats, we called 911. Once they heard sirens nearby they started to disperse. This behavior is so embarrassing and unacceptable.
