A bittersweet The 3 Wishes Project wedding happened today at Olive View UCLA. This was my text exchange. It is always such a privilege to see how #kindness can bring us all together. A 1000 kudos to all the staff who came to help. #nurses are amazing.

As a 1st time NIH R01 awardee, I am learning that it's normal for collaborators (i.e. subcontracts) to have to pay for their personnel/supplies months ahead & then trust that the main center will pay their invoices much later. As an Asian, I am shocked that this is ok.

Over the past 2 weeks, I've accumulated 4 requests for letters of support. I wish I can say that these don't take a lot of time, but a strong letter requires time I don't have. I've earmarked them to be done Memorial Day weekend while we're in Catalina, hubs will understand.

Looks #Simba has found his favorite place to sleep in the house and of course, it’s a box.

The 1st fingerprint painting for a The 3 Wishes Project at Olive View UCLA & it's absolutely beautiful! Request was flowers, fav colors are pink & blue. The center of the flowers are the fingerprints of the deceased patient. Hoping the family will find some comfort & joy to see it.

I was thinking I might try to get a The 3 Wishes Project patient a Dodger dog because he's a huge fan. After some research, I learned they were discontinued in 2021! Why??? They were so popular!!

Ahhh, one of our The 3 Wishes Project volunteer artists gifted ME a painting! How sweet and beautiful is that?!
