On a recent trip to Tottenham Cemetery I found the grave of John Casey. He was the father of 2 of our prominent founders Hamilton and Lindsay and played an important part in our early years. He rests just a few hundred yards from Lindsay. I've yet to locate Hamilton.

Henry Sparrow was both born on this day and died on this day - One of 2 former Spurs to share that coincidence. He joined in 1914 and stayed just 12 months scoring 7 in 19 including 2 on his debut against Oldham at White Hart Lane. He rests in St Chad Churchyard in Lincs.

Alfred Cragg Warner 14.4.1879 ~ 13.6.1939 Warner made 47 Southern League and 4 FA Cup appearances scoring 12 goals during a 3 year stay with the club between 1902 and 1905. He rests in Southern Cemetery, Nottinghamshire.

We remember George Huntly Badenoch who was killed at Givenchy, France on this day in 1915. Signed from Watford his solitary appearance for the club was against Watford in 1906 in the Southern League. Private Badenoch of Canadian infantry 1st battalion we salute you.

Edward Hughes was born in Wales in 1876 and joined us in the summer of 1898. A key part of our success in 1901 our FA Cup winner made over 300 appearances in all competitions. Hughes died on this day in 1936 and rests in St James Cemetery along the Enfield Highway.

Derek Albert King Derek made 19 League starts for us between his debut in 1951 and 1956. He rests in the City of London Cemetery in Newham.

Remembering Frederick William Barnett who sadly passed on this day in 1982. Our legacy number 249 made his debut, and first of 16 appearances in April 1923. He rests in Eltham Cemetery, Greenwich.

Charles Lewis Woodruff made a total of 15 first team appearances scoring 4 goals between 1908 and 1910. He died on this day in 1943 and you'll see his final resting place in the picture below. He rests in Grantham Cemetery, Lincolnshire.

Our legacy number 1 Stanley Briggs died in 1935 of a heart attack whilst playing tennis. Born in Stamford Hill he appeared 17 times for the club but his reluctance to sign pro forms in 1895 signalled the end of his time with us. He rests in Scandia Cemetery in Shell Lake, 🍁

Joseph Henry Nicholls kept goal for the club on 129 occasions between 1927 and 1936. He died on this day in 1973. A memorial service was held at the Southern Cemetery and Crematorium in Nottinghamshire and his ashes were scattered in the garden of rest.

John William Joyce arrived in November 1909 and went on to make 81 first team appearances. In April 1914 he became the first goalkeeper to score - a feat matched a month shy of 93 years later by Paul Robinson He was buried OTD in 1956 in Grove Park Cemetery in Lewisham.

John William Welham is our number 11 on our legacy list and played in our first ever FA Cup tie against West Herts in October 1894. He played in 2 further Cup matches that year before leaving for Clapton. He died on this day in 1946 and was buried in Teignmouth Cemetery.

Hugh Lorimer joined us in 1919 and stayed for 2 years making just 5 first team appearances. He died on this day in 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio where he had migrated to 14 years prior. He was killed instantly following a car crash. He rests in Lake Park Cemetery, Ohio.

Lindsay Rolfs Casey was one of our founding schoolboys, brother to Hamilton Casey, and was an integral part of our early years. He married on this day in 1898, at Holy Trinity Church in Philip Lane, and also died on this day in 1940. He rests in Tottenham Cemetery.

Allan Leach-Lewis made just 1 appearance in April 1904 on amateur terms. He is the wearer of number 113 on our legacy list. His memorial service was held at Barham Crematorium in Kent. There is no known memorial.

Remembering Findlay Weir who died on this day in 1918 in a Brighton hospital aged just 29. Weir made 101 appearances between 1912 and the declaration of war during which he was wounded in battle. He rests in Lambhill Cemetery in his hometown of Glasgow.

David Dunmore joined in 1954 from York City and he would go on to score 26 goals in 81 appearances before departing in early 1960 for West Ham. He died on this day in 2021. A service was held at York Crematorium but there is no known memorial.

Our legacy number 101 James Chalmers made 10 Southern League appearances between 1902 and 1904 scoring 1 goal. He was killed in action on this day of 1915 at the battle of Gallipoli, Turkey aged 37.

Frederick Wilkes joined us at the end of our first season in the Football League and made 60 first team appearances at full-back. He died on this day in 1942 and rests in Reading cemetery.
