We are disappointed to see no firm commitment to a timeline for legislating on Conversion Practices in Scotland in today’s Programme for Government.

This shows two things. 1) The idea that Kate Forbes' anti-LGBTQ+ views have no influence in government is just nonsense. She's driven this. 2) The SNP is supposed to be an independence party. Instead it's lining up behind Labour at Westminster. Utterly embarrassing.

I don't think there's a way to read ditching a ban on conversion therapy as anything but a complete disregard for the well being of queer people. That neither Scotland or England will commit to the ban is a damning statement of intent for LGBT rights in the UK

The ban has been dropped? There are no plans to have a Scottish only conversion therapy ban. This has become obvious. Don’t go the way of LGBT Labour, stand up against the anti-LGBT stance of SNP leadership instead of claiming it’s not true

We must be clear what this is. It's backsliding from a commitment made last year to deliver a Scottish bill based on the recommendions of the Scottish expert advisory group - made last year. That commitment was to deliver that bill, not pass off responsibility to Westminster.

ScotGov has quite explicitly dropped a Scotland-specific conversion therapy ban - relying on Westminster will only cause further delays and risk weakening the ban. They've had years to act and have chosen not to. I really hope OFI aren't going the way of LGBT Labour...

Think the most depressing thing about the SNP dropping the conversion therapy ban, is folk in the SNP who are quick to call out Labours anti-LGBT stances but with the SNP are defending it no matter what and refuse to be wrong Call it out on all sides ffs, stop embarrassing yersel
