Hello Twitter! Welcome to the brand new feed for TextDiveGlobal. We're a five-year research project funded by European Research Council (ERC) and based QMUL English & Drama, bringing together scholars from across the world to write 'Europe in the World: A Literary History, 1545–1659' for Oxford University Press.

This will be the first literary history of early modern Europe and its global connections, with chapters covering diverse texts and forms in regions across Europe and globally connected territories in Asia, Africa and the Americas from the mid-16th to the mid-17th centuries.

The project is run by a small team in QMUL English & Drama - Principal Investigator WVB, postdoctoral researcher Máté Vince and project manager Clare Whitehead - but stay tuned for new team members in the coming months!

Our next colloquium takes place on Friday 20th May at 5pm BST. We're delighted to be welcoming Miguel Valerio (Miguel A. Valerio) from Washington Uni. in St. Louis to lead a discussion on black performance in the Spanish Americas. Join our network to attend - tinyurl.com/yeu9cpj8.

Free access to this collection from OUP History until the end of January, including a chapter by our PI WVB on how Pollock's 'vernacular millennium' thesis applies to letters, learning and social hierarchy in Europe from the 1530s to the 1660s.
