Devastated to report the passing of Rustic Rod Goodway (seen here sporting a Terrastock T-shirt, bless him). He was an integral part of the wider Terrascope community and was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and talented as well as a great personal hero of mine.

Broken hearted to report the passing of George Kinney, the driving force behind the mighty The Golden Dawn earlier today (July 18th). We did such a lovely interview with him in Terrascope issue 33 (2003) bit.ly/3OolHWU

It still blows my mind that I regularly write for the magazine I was obsessed with while growing up, but more importantly, everyone should check this out because it features 6 musicians that are truly doing something different, unique and exciting. Pay attention to these artists.

Some years ago, Ian Fraser interviewed Nik Turner, who has passed away today aged 82, for the Terrascope. He was both eloquent and helpful - and so was Nik Turner... bit.ly/3fYJelW

Episode 28 w/ Phil McMullen of Ptolemaic Terrascope out now! The history of this superlative-defying psych mag, the legendary Terrastock festivals, and looking to the past to reinvent the fanzine. An inspiring chat with an inspiring chap! Phil McMullen podbean.com/ew/pb-t3awy-13…

An amazing (and amazingly lengthy!) round-up of Terrascopic reviews this month - I think it's the most we've ever published! Some cracking releases, too... bit.ly/3TPHRnz

The way Mastadon's been set up w/common interest communities reminds me of 1 reason why we created Ptolemaic Terrascope in 1989 - because people simply aren't like that. A Fairport Convention fan might easily also be into Pantera (e.g.), and no 'zines then catered for that 1/2

2/2 they were either dedicated to 1 genre or 1 band. Add to that the fact that music fans are often also into sport, food, politics whatever, and I just think a semi-curated feed like Mastadon is wrong. Nevertheless, we are dipping our toes in: @[email protected]

We weren't consulted, but I can only assume this overview draws on our own published piece on the subject from 2007: fhttp://www.terrascope.co.uk/Features/LadbrokeGrove.htm

One behalf of everyone at the Terrascope, our condolences to the friends and family of the late, great Tony McPhee, a true legend of the British underground.

Sandy Denny's daughter Georgia has been liaising with Carla Fuchs on a project called 'Songbird', based on unpublished Sandy Denny lyrics. An album will be released on Aug. 10th, with Carla performing it live at The Brasenose Arms in Oxfordshire as part of the Cropredy Fringe 1/2

2/2 There's also an exhibition which will run at the same venue from August 10-13, midday to 4pm. It will include memorabilia, notebooks, clothing, etc. Needless to say the Terrascope was straight onto it. More here: terrascope.co.uk/Features/Proje…

This is all a bit trendy for me, but I thought a few of my followers might be interested in seeing where the Ptolemaic Press operates from - thanks to Garden Affairs Ltd. who built the wonderful new garden studio (and filmed it) bit.ly/4ajshsT
