The #CorpsofExlporation had the rare opportunity to see this fish within #PalauNationalMarineSanctuary while exploring the top of a seamount. Its ultra-black-toned scales have evolved to absorb, not reflect, light- making it very difficult to see in the deep (and to photograph).
