Dear Nadine It is with great sorrow that I learn of your tragic departure from the House. Your contribution to the national political and cultural life of Britain, reminds me of that great English heroine, Joan of Arc. Your mist will be greatly sore. Exit Regina Angina Boris

I don't know if you've read Trespasses by Louise Kennedy @KennedyLoulou - you probably have, I'm a bit late here. But anyway it is unbelievably good.

DELIGHTED we can announce this. It's been a busy (the busiest) year yet, but here is the programme for the Festival of History. As one of its programmers, I feel this captures the richness of what's happening from podcasts to documentaries to talks... dublinfestivalofhistory.ie/events/

Hello! I'm looking to begin a new Irish Portrait Project and I'd like to connect with older, Irish folk around the world. It's likely that a lot of people in the demographic won't have social media, so I'd be very grateful if you could share this message by text/in person too. x

Not a big fan of this new "initiative" from Clare Libraries Libraries Ireland. We know readers love to both borrow AND buy (to keep & give to friends). Discouraging people to support bookshops isn't a great look tbh... Maybe they could have a rethink? #LoveLibraries @BooksellingI

At the end of August, the boundary commission published its review of constituencies. Their recommendations will see Harold's Cross split between Dublin Bay South and Dublin South Central. What do you think of the changes? rte.ie/news/politics/…

A friend sent me this link earlier. In the charts! In the rankings! Whatever! It’s a buzz. And thank you to everyone who helped by buying a copy or spreading the word. Really, it’s mad! 🥳🙏✌️

Odd isn't it..but a few decades ago we thought the mindless violence of the middle east might be sorted before the mindless violence of northern Ireland..wrong again

Does this lovable yoke look familiar? He’s set for another night with us in the station in Malahide, Co. Dublin and as much as we are enjoying having a new pal, we’d like to find his owner. He is not chipped but maybe he looks like a neighbour or friends dog? #HereToHelp

just a friendly reminder that if you want small, independent businesses to survive, you have to shop there once in a while. you can't just backsource everything you find there and try to find a cheaper price online. or if you do, don't performatively lament when they shutter.

these companies sometimes charge a little more, but this is not charity. some introduce you to styles or brands you would have never heard of. or they brighten a neighborhood and make your walk nicer. enjoying these "externalities" means shopping there once in a while.
