Today, we remember the heroic freedom surge of the #WarsawUprising1944.   In the greatest act of resistance in occupied Europe, the outnumbered🇵🇱 Home Army insurgents fought the German Nazi forces for 63 days, trying to liberate the city before the Soviet Red Army's arrival.

In the early hours of 1 September 1939 Germany's Luftwaffe started bombarding the Polish town of Wieluń. The attack is considered to be the first war crime committed by Nazi Germany in World War II. Bombs destroyed ca. 70 percent of the town's buildings.
