A beauty of a Saturday evening. A great looking seed field of AAC Russell VB wheat, and a riders game on the radio. Lake would be nice but this is pretty good too!

How about that for a flax field? Our pedigreed CDC Rowland flax from SeCan is looking great. Neither frost nor cutworms could slow this field down! Third year for Rowland on our farm, we really like this variety.

Our AAC Profit Peas from FP Genetics are looking great. Field inspection is complete on these. This heat has been a little tough on the blooms but the podding looks good so far. A drink soon for filling would be great. Yield and protein all in one package.

A fine Saturday to catch up with a old friend, and get our Bushel Plus MAD Concaves installed. Looking forward to seeing what these do for us in the field. Thanks Jeff from Bent Wrench!

When it’s 32 degrees and a chance of a thunderstorm and you have 1 of the few plots in western Canada of a new wheat variety you clean up the combine, switch concaves and go get it!! Life of a seed grower! FP Genetics

Combining just above Tobin Lake today and there’s the start of one of my favourite bits of sled and bike trail. I’ve ridden that trail for close to 50 yrs!!😳😳. But I’m not old!!!

Just did my annual “is it too late to spray” trial. Had a patch by the yard with a brew of cleavers, white cockle and Canada thistle. 55 ac of express pro and glyphosate. Will see in the spring, but I predict I’ll see the line where I ran out. Bedtime for the sprayer now!

We put all new discs, scrapers and closing tines on our Bourgault Industries drill. Very few acres and here is the wear on the tines. Changed nothing from where the banders and tines were set up originally. Watched the videos but didn’t really get any answers. Any thoughts?

It’s pretty hard to beat the looks of a solid oat field at weed spray time. These are CDC Arborg. Maybe oats will be the sleeper crop this year??🤷‍♂️

Any tips on boom track settings for a 4045 Deere? Crops are thinner and system is not keeping up real well. I’ve played with response settings but that’s not helping. Running 13th.

I found these items in a drawer full of gems last night. A crop certificate issued to my Grandfather in 1936 for Grimm alfalfa seed. This seed production thing has been in our family for a while!! CSGA / ACPS SASPDC / SLA

Fun weekend at the Nipawin Evergreen Curling club as the hosts of the CURLSASK Viterra Last Chance Ladies Spiel. It was great to see the crowds in the stands and hear stories of the Autospiels and cash spiels we used to host here. Our club is great. Thanks to the organizers!
