A recent group of school children visited the museum and interestingly enough, had no idea how the phone on the left worked!! I'm sure most of us remember those days. The phone on the right is from c1910. Both phones are on display in the Museum. #phone #telephone #history

Dick Pentecost (1913-2010) played the #saxophone in a number of bands from the 1930s including Deveys Band, Swingstars & Noveltones. He also had a delicatessen at 123 Whitaker Street which opened in the 1950s. Thanks to his daughter Kay Fleming for the photo. #history #TeAroha
