I’m uneasy about it too. It’s stressful & scary, but it’s also out of my control, so the best thing I can do is try to focus that attention on the most urgent issues of our time: climate change, good gov, jobs, wages, justice; and highlight the contradictions you explain here.

Dear Universities UK, as an international alumni of @spsw who pay most expensive tuition fee in Europe, I support the legitimate #USS struggle of the University of York academics who I am proud to have as lecturers and who have one of the most modest employee rights in Europe. UCU UOY is telling our UEB they are wrong
My daughter just made this for the #usstrike strike tomorrow. University of Leeds is off her list of potential universities unless they remove the threat of punitive ASOS deductions sharpish. And she would be a massive loss to any university (in 6 years time)!
