The first Comstock Act was enacted in 1873. The Project 2025 Plan for a 2nd Trump presidency calls for the enforcement of Comstock to effect a national abortion ban.

After Arizona's actions yesterday, does anyone believe that the GOP will not do this, should Trump win in Nov?

Trump and his allies know he has a ceiling of support somewhere around the mid to high 40s. They also know he suffers from an enthusiasm gap. The only way he wins is if enough voters who would otherwise vote Biden go third party.

The youth vote will be critical in this election. I'm happy to be advising the team at Dream for America on their critical organizing work around the country.

Trump's new position on abortion rights - the people should decide. Which is a nice idea, except in the 24 states where citizens cannot initiate a ballot measure.

As Maggie Haberman reported last month, a large share of these donations will end up at the PAC that has been paying Trump’s legal bills.

Here's some easy to understand context - if the polls in MI, PA, and WI (the 'blue wall') are off by the exact margin by which they missed in '22, Biden is winning in MI by 5.5, PA by 4, and WI by 1.7%.

Just to recap:
-The Kansas Reflector posted a column critical of FB on Thursday
-Meta blocked/deleted all their links across platforms
-Meta restored all Reflector links except the critical column
-I reposted the column on The Handbasket Friday
-Meta blocked/deleted all my links

Surprised by this Jonathan Chait piece on Simon Rosenberg. Chait says there are credible reasons for Ds to feel optimism, but these are reasons *Simon himself* has repeatedly cited. His main argument is that current polls only tell a limited part of the story.

The polls always are biased, in aggregate, in one direction or another. In 2022 in Senate races they had a GOP bias, but people interpreted them as if they had a Dem bias, thus fueling months of red wave coverage. This isn't that difficult to understand.

Well, I’m convinced. This one quote from one guy proves we all misremembered 2022 and it turns out almost everyone wasn’t predicting a red wave.

Wall Street Journal poll has Biden trailing. No one reports Trump's top pollster conducts it. , by Michelangelo Signorile signorile.com/p/wall-street-…

I don't know. Yes, we should be frightened of the consequences of a second Trump presidency, and yes, it is better to overestimate his campaign... but the evidence of competence offered here is fundraising (his numbers are awful) and winning the GOP primary (of course he did).
