I am very happy to see this piece with Taylor Boas Danny Hidalgo Monique Menezes accepted in Journal of Politics @[email protected]! It was a great combination of insights from qualitative work tested on quantitative data. Full disclosure: we didn’t know what DAPs were when we started this project!

A highly credible, scientific Parallel Vote Tabulation shows a landslide opposition victory in Venezuela. Democracies must act to help the Venezuelan people defend this victory. #VenezuelaLibre

This pre-registered Parallel Vote Tabulation shows convincing evidence of an opposition victory in Venezuela. Kudos to Dalson Figueiredo, Raphael Nishimura, Walter Mebane, and an anonymous Venezuelan scholar for using science to defend democracy. supervisiondev2.metabaseapp.com/public/dashboa…

Is there no strong norm of replicability in quantitative sociology? Went looking for the data from an AJS article and found nothing. Checked out the AJS guidelines--essentially "submitting replication data/code is best practice, but we know it's hard and don't require it."

Taylor Boas (@taylorboas) 's Twitter Profile Photo

After four overdue article reviews and a tenure letter in the past two weeks, I finally cleared my plate...for APSA discussant duties, letters for job candidates, a book workshop, and more article reviews. And non-academics think we're "off" when not teaching...
