#kidlit needs Kait. Back in '21, she led the BIPOC Picture Book Club: read-aloud evenings for adults who love the craft. Our industry usually keeps us at arm's length, but Kait created a warm, welcoming space where un-agented newbies, editors and veteran illustrators were equals.
