Thankful for our partnership with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Dallas Henderson spent hours with us looking at ELA standards and creating updated pacing for our teachers. It’s a lot of work, the support will have a great impact on our students.

Finished up our last day with teachers today. I am proud of our leaders for their hard work and dedication to HSSD! They can be anywhere but they choose to lead here 💛🖤🫶🏽

If the only thing you’re worried about as a leader is accolades and validation, then your work is for you and not the school or organization. Change your perspective, focus on the good and changes needed to be great. Feedback brings opportunities for increased growth.

Chasing recognition never turns out well. Make sure your character is what you stand on and not the “fame” that comes with titles or positions.

When we deem students incapable of learning at grade level, we're playing GOD. The positive is, no expectations for those kids so we don't have to be our best. We're free to "build relationships" without the annoyance of rigor. #StartWithTheCROWN #RuthlessEquity @atPLC @atRTIaw

Added to my professional cup today by attending the Arkansas ASCD conference! It was a fantastic day filled with learning from my colleagues across the state! Looking forward to tomorrow!

The month of June flew by. One highlight was sitting with our teachers and coaches to share our process to implementing HQIM for Literacy and Math. It was refreshing to hear from our staff their highlights and how excited they are for next year given the knowledge they have now.

Today was a GREAT day! Looking forward to a year of excellence at HSSD ✨🖤

Had the old team back for just a little today! It was so wonderful to co-present on school and district systems to support student learning with Kristen Gordon and Jason Selig I’m so proud then and their growth as leaders!

What are you teachers doing to start the year? Ours are collaborating district wide, working on Quarter 1 unit plans and preparing for a fantastic new school year!

So thankful for First Hot Springs for the food, fellowship and community as they served our district this week. We are growing community partnerships, one at a time 💛🖤

We started school today and it was AMAZING! Can’t wait for a great year of learning for our students!

Week 2 is off to a great start! I’m so eager to see how our student grow with our new calendar! By Labor Day we will have had four weeks of solid instruction to adjust instruction to support our students where they need it!
