Connecting in the library to gr 2 Forces & Motion with a reading of Egg Drop and some amazing designing & creating of our projects. So much thinking! So much fun! So much (good) chaos! Launching on Monday!

Taking a break from tech activities in library and rediscovering the lovely art of browsing. On the hunt for books with first lines that grab us and trying new things.

Our library hosted an Ann Cleeves ‘Shetlands’ murder mystery evening for parents and staff, & it was the best idea ever!!! Teacher actors, terrible Scottish accents, & my husband even made fake CDs for his character. What a way to (re) build community. 💕

Super excited to be welcoming Matt Smith @SmithvsSmith to ISP next week. Our graphic novel lovers are going to enjoy learning how to draw and make comics!

Our new(ish) Library Apprentices have reached their absolute dream—and why they asked to start the group—checking books in and out!! They did a great job, albeit with some major hovering from me for their first time. 😂

What a great way to kick off the week with @SmithvsSmith and a gathering to get to know him before launching into some serious comic writing. So engaging for kids! Loved every minute of it and can’t wait for more tomorrow!

I often remind myself that the library is different things for different kids. This sweet 1st grader has rarely taken a book home all year but she writes a book (or 3!!) EVERY SINGLE TIME! The books used to be in Russian but they have switched to English recently. So awesome!

Wildly excited about putting together my first Breakout Box challenge for 3rd graders. Focusing on their Prague unit and creating cool clues with asheames

Celebration of those who read 5 or more of the Iris Award books for elementary. Eating pizza, chatting about how we would rate each book and then a very exciting Kahoot made by Helle Kirstein and the Iris team. So much fun!

Forever in love with how a book tasting brings us together and adds something special. This time, we dug into books from their own classroom library. Kids reading and calling out, “These croissants are so buttery! 😂

Guess who is SUPER excited about John Schu coming to International School of Prague Official next week???!!! All of us! Can’t wait!

Forever grateful to work with Elizabeth Perry as she is always up for anything creative! Our new QR holders for the library that will lead to all sorts of fun stuff! So sweet!

Bursting with joy after watching John Schu interact with middle schoolers today. The energy! The engagement! The heart connections! Two more days of this fabulousness coming our way at International School of Prague Official!

This year’s Book Besties group is working on a new logo. They were adamant it must consist of a moon, the words Book Besties and three animals covered by a blanket. Kids are so fabulous! 🙂 Our goal is to laser cut earrings, a necklace charm and keychains with the logo.

ISP Book Besties love a good library contest! Guess the pages in a small, medium and big book! Love watching the 3rd grade Book Besties help the smaller kids join on the playground today. 📚💕
