#ed6641 To develop as writers multilingual students must have opportunities for authentic expression. As a teacher, we must draw on our own struggles during the writing process as opportunities for teachable moments to inspire writing that is purposeful, authentic and meaningful.

#ed6641 Providing students with opportunities to create posts, blogs, or publish their work increase the level of motivation by allowing them to write for an audience! An authentic audience reaches beyond the teacher-student relationship. FMPSDLiteracy ChristinaGordon

#ed6641 There is vulnerability in the writing process even if I don’t share my words with anyone else. Good writing requires honesty. It is a process of examination into our thoughts. We must keep this in mind when critiquing our student’s writing.

#ed6641 #ed6641 Teaching writing is not the job of the English department alone.  Writing is an essential tool for learning; therefore, helping students improve their writing skills is the responsibility of all faculty members, regardless of their subject area.
