Fieldwork day 5... When the weather refuses to let you e-fish so you try angling instead....but it refuses to let you do that either...sigh...

And while it may not look like it, there's a wee snapping turtle under that quadrat. 😍

Still don't think suturing a banana is anything like suturing a fish but it helps you remember the knots I suppose. 🤷‍♀️

Fieldwork day #3...Literally squealed with glee when we saw a bunch of turtles basking all over the place pre setting up nets for catching them....Then went home and tested my snapping turtle weighing device on my pup. He was a good sport lol. 🥹

Deploying acoustic receivers through the ice in wetlands for the first time was a success. Was great to take a break from the computer and do some fieldwork! 🤸

Went to check the conditions at my field site today....was a wee bit wetter than I expected. Should make for some interesting winter fieldwork.
