Here are the original art boards. These are all done in ink and wash on bristol board. I drew each one a month apart - I ruled all the compositions at the same time. The heavy lifting was all done in the layouts. But it was quite difficult to match the same tones on each cover!

I finished my last page in Nightwing.

My 1st comic was published by Image in the same year I won Best Emerging Talent at the British Comic Awards and also the same year as the last big building project I helped lead won a National Award and was nominated for another (the Stirling). That was ten years ago. I was 44.

My favorite mutant, Mrs. McCoy's bouncing boy, BEAST. I still dig this look for him, personally.

I tend to work in silence as much as I can but I have watched the mercurial Mike Mignola documentary Drawing Monsters three times in the past two days. What a fascinating story, Hellboy would be a dream character to work on for me! I adore everything abou that universe!
