Teamwork makes the dream work. A pair of Double-eyed Fig-parrots (marshalli subspecies) on Cape York capitalises on some perfectly suited dead-tree habitat to excavate their nest hollow in 🥹. ♂️ on the top; ♀️ at the mini hollow. Such colourfully adorable little things, right?❤️

How interesting! I see water rats ( I am ‘rat positive’) at Lake Daylesford pretty regularly- usually in late afternoon. Didn’t realise they had such nocturnal habits!

If you manage gorse in Australia then I want to hear from you! I'm gathering diverse perspectives from Aus on gorse management - meaning anyone who manages gorse in some way, scale doesn't matter. Survey is anonymous, most Qs are optional. Please share! 🇦🇺 forms.gle/5jE6kv3Q9qFPf2…

Super excited by this fine piece of tachylite ! I found it along a gas pipeline running through my local forest - tachylite is related to but not quite like obsidian. Volcanic glass! I knew it was at Spring Hill but not at porcupine ridge where we are

Excited to share our review, led by Grace Blackburn looking at the co-occurrence of multiple anthro stressors on avian behaviour and cognition, and how the effect of two stressors together may be worse than the added effect of singly. How do we change behaviours to improve human-nature relationships? Real world implementation and evaluation is hard. We describe an implementation framework and identify knowledge gaps based on our experience as an academic-government collaboration doi.org/10.1016/j.bioc…
