That´s the Lifevest of a 2year old child, the mother put before leaving Tunesia. 54 people arrived here in Lampedusa, including 12 children and 9 women from Mali, Senegal, Gambia and Ivory coast after a trip of 24 hours from Sfax. All completly soaked and exhausted, but alive.

We are still unable to reconnect with the people on one of the large boats. The people on the 2nd boat report worsening weather conditions and urgently call for help. Authorities, including the Libyan ones, are informed but not intervening. How much longer do they have to wait?
