This paper demonstrates for the first time that the molten salt can be a media to synthesize quantum dots. This paper also presents the first luminescent colloidal GaAs quantum dot. Redox chemistry is a powerful tool to achieve this nice materials! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

In this paper we show successful passivation of Ga-rich InGaAs by controlling the Zn precursor to form ZnS or ZnSe shells, resulting in photoluminescence quantum yields of up to 30%. These materials show promise as heavy metal-free NIR emitters. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
