Temperatures are right around freezing this morning at 8k' with a little wet snow falling, trying hard to stick! Only impressive because it is August 24th.

A sad day. I also learned things from Howard over the years and we had a good working relationship over the last 2 decades forecasting for the Sierra. He will be missed but not forgotten.
