This is the story of how I, a PhD student, owe OpenAI $5,000 dollars and might lose access to my main tool of work.

I suspect, this would be an API key leak.

Guard keys friends.
Don’t commit.
Don’t deploy in app bundle.
Don’t put in a file that can be read by webserver.

Best way to deploy app bundle is expose your own API to clients, handle req, fwd to ext API, handle req, return to client.
