Took a walk through the UIUC encampment since I was already on campus. Students on the rest of the quad seem unbothered, even taking grad pics at Foellinger. The number of tents has increased since my last visit. Some demonstrators were listening to an educational presentation.
Students facing threats of mass arrests right now and there has been nonstop violence from the police since the start of the encampment this morning. If you can mobilize, go to Champaign tonight. SJP UIUC

Last look at the UIUC encampment as I head out for the night. Still around 100 demonstrators on the Main Quad, many of whom plan to stay the night. Fears about a police raid seem to be declining but they will still have people on watch.
The encampment for Palestine outside the Alma Mater Statue at the University of Illinois was broken down once by police and UIUC staff Friday morning, but protestors blocked a second wave of police in the afternoon. One organizer was arrested.
I am appalled and disgusted by the UIUC decision tonight to use police brutality to squash a peaceful pro Palestine protest on campus and to attack and arrest our student body. Free Palestine and shame on all of the universities attacking our right to free speech
