Portlands been iced over for a week now so I started making tintypes

You know how at every antique store you can find old family photos? Ancient tintypes from the 1850's, etc... someone desperately wishes they could have seen those.

If I had any free time I'd start a website to collect those and reunite them with their rightful owners.

Facebook informs me this ambrotype was taken 10 years ago~ I was sticking my bum out and had to hold the positions for so long!! Tintypes were also taken, ambrotype is basically that wet plate like tintype but it's developed on glass instead. You can see the image cracked <3

So I asked this beautiful woman to marry me and she said yes.

This tintype photograph, taken in April of 1862 in #Nashville , features an unidentified young woman. Tintypes became widely popular among soldiers during the Civil War, and thousands were produced as soldiers left images for loved ones or carried images to war with them.
